Welcome! My name is Mrs. Herrera. I am new to Tennessee having taught grade K-4 in Utah for the past 5 years. I hold a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Reading. I have several educational endorsements, including Gifted Talented Education, ESL, Psychology and Sociology, which I am in the process of getting added to my Tennessee license. I am so thrilled to be teaching 4th grade RLA and social studies. I think teaching reading, using research based, engaging and effective strategies, is powerful and exciting. Having taught my learning disabled son from illiteracy to academic excellence, I believe that all students can thrive academically with consistent hard work and skilled support. As a part of the STAR team, I look forward to working with you this year to make it academically challenging and rewarding for our students. Yours for academic excellence, Nicole Herrera M.Ed
